The faster way: auto-fill it
A blank sheet still means rolling stats, choosing spells, and hand-calculating every modifier, save, and attack bonus. Our generator does all of that for you: describe a character in one sentence and get a complete, rules-accurate 5e sheet in seconds — abilities, AC, HP, saves, skills, spells, equipment, and a backstory — ready to print or export to Foundry VTT and Roll20. What’s on a D&D 5e character sheet
A standard 5e sheet has a few core regions:
- Identity — name, class & level, race, background, alignment, experience.
- Ability scores — the six abilities and their modifiers, plus proficiency bonus.
- Saving throws & skills — six saves and the 18 skills, marked for proficiency.
- Combat — armor class, initiative, speed, hit points, hit dice, and death saves.
- Attacks & spellcasting — weapons, attack bonuses, damage, and spells.
- Character — personality, ideals, bonds, flaws, features & traits, proficiencies.
How to fill out a character sheet
- Pick a race, class, and background, then note them at the top.
- Assign ability scores (the standard array is 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) and work out each modifier.
- Add your proficiency bonus to proficient saves, skills, and attacks.
- Calculate AC, hit points, and your spell save DC if you cast.
- Choose spells, equipment, and write up your character’s personality and backstory.
Prefer to skip the math? The generator does every step above automatically, with the arithmetic handled by a deterministic rules engine.

Frequently asked questions
Is the character sheet free?
Yes — print the blank sheet for free, or generate a complete filled one for free. No login required.
Can I print or save it as a PDF?
Yes. Click “Print this sheet” and choose your printer, or choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog to keep a digital copy.
Is this the official D&D character sheet?
No — it is our own clean, print-friendly 5e sheet covering the standard fields (abilities, saves, the 18 skills, combat, spells, equipment, and roleplay). It is built around SRD 5.1 mechanics and is not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
Can you fill the sheet in for me?
Yes — that is the fastest option. Describe a character in a sentence and the generator produces a complete, rules-accurate sheet you can print or export. No hand-calculating modifiers.
What edition is it for?
D&D 5th edition (5e), built on the SRD 5.1 (2014) ruleset that most tables still play.
Does it cover all levels?
Yes — the auto-filled sheet supports every level from 1 to 20, with all derived numbers calculated for you.
